"Having grown up in a museum-loving family, I've spent considerable time in the presence of great paintings both in the U.S. and in Europe. Painting has been happening ever sense but inconsistently until moving to Hawaii.
On this stage, the 'Big' island, there's just too much dynamic beauty to sit uninspired.
My formal training has been through workshops with the Brooklyn-born artist David Leffel and another New Yorker, Everett Raymond Kinstler - a most distinguished portrait painter.
My favorite painter, hands down, is John Singer Sargent. In museums, I go to his works first.
