Shawn Waco <! aesthetic>

Shawn Waco began his art in printmaking, painting, welding sculpture, and
graphic design in 1990 while living in Santa Monica. He found passion in
viscosity etching, and he etched visionary cities and surly characters onto the
metal plates and mastered the technique of overlapped color, rolled on the
deeply etched zinc plate to create vibrant effects.

For 25 years, Shawn pushed mediums and techniques and developed his own
unique vision and process through drawing and painting, combined with
sculpted laser cut wood, and he created a form of 3D relief mixed media
painting.

Shawn has traveled to and worked on Hawaiian Art since 2000. He spends time
at Captain Cook on the Big Island at his uncle’s house and with longtime friends
in Oahu and Maui. His latest series represents a visionary look at the lush
mountains and beaches of Kaui, Oahu, Maui, and the Big Island.
